Price Comparison Services
The most competitive price comparison services are:
• Best Advice UK
• Moneysupermarket.com
• Tesco Compare

Best Advice UK:
Completely independent insurance advice:
Best Advice UK are a price comparison service, which is completely independent (receiving no commission from insurance companies) who charge a small fee to find the best deal for your insurance, but only if they save you money.
Car insurance is as individual as DNA or fingerprints, as no two people have the same details. Therefore to find the right price it is helpful to speak to the person concerned to have a feel for their requirements.
In addition to price, Best Advice UK point out the positives and negatives of the insurance companies and as they are completely independent they can be totally objective.
Their service is aimed at people who are too busy to search for the best price for their insurance themselves and those who are less confident in dealing with insurance companies directly.
Company profile:
• Telephone: 0800 085 1898.
• Internet: www.bestadviceuk.co.uk
• On average clients save over £100 (Jan-Dec 2007).
• Best Advice UK achieve a cheaper deal for 99 per cent of callers.

Moneysupermarket.com:
General money saving site:
Moneysupermarket.com specialise in giving advice on credit cards, mortgages, loans, car sales and general financial services.
They have a site giving motor insurance quotes. This is a well designed site which intends to give you a ‘quick quote’ from a variety of Insurance Brokers and Intermediaries.
The site has been upgraded and improved enormously since the flotation of Moneysupermarket.com on the stock market, last year, and we consider it to be the best site of its type at the moment.
It is a similar idea to Confused.com but more simple and quicker but slightly less accurate, but overall the better site.
Moneysupermarket.com and Confused.com are both excellent ideas and can be useful in finding your best deal, in conjuction with the information and tips you can find on The Matthews Guide site.
The Moneysupermarket.com site can be very useful in finding ‘ball park’ premiums if you are thinking of changing your car etc.

Tesco Compare:
General money saving site:
Tesco have recently introduced their own Price Comparison Site in partnership with Royal Bank of Scotland, Called Tesco Compare.
This has been developed to compete with Confused.com and Moneysupermarket.com which Royal Bank of Scotland/Tesco insurance services do not support.
Strangeley Direct Line which is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland is not included on this site, but Churchill, Virgin, Prudential, Privilege etc which are all connected to the Royal Bank of Scotland are quoted. Direct Line are presumably doing this as a marketing ploy, certainly the powerful Royal Bank of Scotland insurance division will not be happy with the emerging influence of the price comparison services on motor and home insurance.
This site is quite good but offers a lot less choice than meets the eye as most of the companies quoted are in fact connected to each other in one way or another, although prices quoted can sometimes vary, as can cover offered, but generally a similar attitude to risks prevails.
Worth a try for most risks.
