| Fantastic policy, unbelievable prices but new company starting 2006. One month policies available. Drivers up to 99 years of age. Credit card fee added. Not as competitve as 2007, but still worth a try. Outrageously expensive on instalments. Beware of no cover for drink driving and vehicle must be kept in garage if available and alarm/immobiliser must be operational. |
• E Car insurance do not come under the governance of the FSA in the UK and are controlled by the equivalent in Gibralter. |
• Super policy but not as competitive as 2007.
• Watch out for compulsory excess, nearly always included. |
• Occasionally good for young drivers.
• Comprehensive includes breakdown with homecall and 5 years plus no claims discount automatically gives guaranteed bonus protection. |
• Clients report excellent claims and breakdown service no negatives so far.
• Students living at home get better deals. |
• E Car are very slow at giving refunds to clients for cancellation of policy etc. (seems a bit unfair as they are very quick at taking clients money for new policies and renewals etc.).
• They do not send a cheque for 14 days which seems ridiculously long. |
• E Car do not allow you tohold your insurance in abeyance if you have a period without a car, which means you are forced to cancel the policy.
• When you cancelled online they used to show you the return preimum due, they no longer do this and you have to wait until you receive your cheque several weeks later. Unless you are prepared to phone them at £1 per minute charge. |
